What is counselling?
Counselling is a talking therapy in a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings from the past or present day in a supportive professional environment.
Your reasons for coming to counselling:
There are many different reasons why people make the decision to see a counsellor/psychotherapist such as:
-
Feeling low or depressed

Relationship difficulties intimate and/or professional

Work related issues such as stress and performance anxiety

Feeling like anxiety is preventing you living the life you want to live

-
Beareavement issues and loss
-
Unresolved childhood issues that are impacting on your life today
-
Managing difficult feelings such as anger
-
Difficulties with making decisions creating inner turmoil, making you feel stuck or frustrated or disempowerered
What to expect from counselling:
-
Sessions will always last for 50 minutes
-
The first session will clarify whether we think/feel we can work together
-
All work is confidential unless this is legally not possible (for example court orders, child protection issues and risk of harm to self and others).
-
Therapy can be short term or long term and you can also take a break and return to therapy at a later time
